Merlin’s Magic Wand is the children’s charity partner of the Merlin Entertainments Limited Group (“Merlin Entertainments”). We work closely with Merlin Entertainments' attractions to deliver the magic of amazing brands such as LEGOLAND®, Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE Aquariums to eligible beneficiaries. 

Merlin Entertainments donates 100% of the Magical Days Out tickets to Merlin’s Magic Wand so that we can share the magic of the attractions with eligible families and other charitable organizations all over the USA. Merlin Entertainments also makes an annual donation towards our operating costs, which means that more of your donations go straight to our charitable programs.

I’m based in San Diego, California, and became a Charity Champion at LEGOLAND California in June 2024. Before stepping into this role, I spent over six years as a VIP Host, where I first learned about Merlin’s Magic Wand (MMW) through our team’s frequent collaborations with the Charity Champions.

As a Charity Champion, I help coordinate Magical Days Out, ensuring families have extra-special experiences during their visits. I also organize fundraising events, including the annual MMW Golf Tournament, and collaborate with our charity partners to host various events. Within our Resort, I lead a dedicated committee of volunteers who help bring our fundraisers and events to life.

The golf tournament has been a long-standing tradition at LEGOLAND California, with the first event held over a decade ago. I’m honored to carry on this legacy! Planning begins about eight months in advance, starting with selecting the perfect course. I relied on insights from past organizers and my MMW committee, who volunteered on the day of the event. This year, we had over 20 volunteers across 13 teams within our Park. Our SEA LIFE team added to the fun by running morning golf games, bringing some friendly competition while raising additional funds.

I also worked closely with several teams to secure items for our silent auction, which was a huge hit with the golfers. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and participants, we raised over $100,000, with 21 sponsors and a total of 135 golfers taking part in the event.

I am so honored to be part of Merlin’s Magic Wand, spearheading impact through the incredible fundraising events and initiatives we bring to life at LEGOLAND California Resort.
