The LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort is dedicated to spreading joy to those unable to make the journey to Günzburg. On February 15, International Childhood Cancer Day, attention is drawn globally to the challenges faced by sick children and their families. In recognition of this, the LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort team visited the children's hospital in Ulm. The visit featured beloved resort characters, including the larger-than-life LEGOLAND Boy and Peppa Pig, who made a special appearance following the 2024 opening of her park just steps away from LEGOLAND. Her cheerful presence brightened the children's day, offering a welcome distraction from the routine of hospital life. This initiative reflects the resort's commitment to supporting seriously ill children and their families.

As the door opens, a smile lights up the faces of the young patients as the towering LEGOLAND Boy enters the common room of Ulm Children's Hospital. The children eagerly rush to greet him, excited to embrace their favorite character. Meanwhile, Peppa Pig spends time with the younger children in the day ward, offering a bit of fun in the hospital's daily routine. Tom’s mother shares her joy: "It’s so heartwarming to see him smile like that. Our days are often filled with exams, diagnoses, and worries, but these moments give us new hope. He’ll always remember this experience."
The LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort team also brought thoughtful surprises for the children, including LEGO gifts for the ward. For children in quarantine who couldn’t leave their rooms, the mascots personally visited through the windows, bringing smiles to their faces. Thanks to the support of the dedicated hospital staff, the day became an unforgettable experience for all the children involved.
Raising awareness for those with special needs is important not only on International Childhood Cancer Day, but year-round for LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort. Through the Merlin Entertainments Group's charity, Merlin's Magic Wand, the resort supports affected families, institutions, and facilities throughout the year. Last year, around 6,700 children and their families had the chance to enjoy a memorable day at LEGOLAND, providing them with a much-needed break from their daily challenges. The resort’s accessibility initiatives earned it the official "Travel for All" seal in 2024, recognizing its commitment to inclusivity across all areas, including LEGOLAND Park, LEGOLAND Holiday Village, LEGOLAND Campsite, and PEPPA PIG Park. LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort continues to be a place for everyone, with the 2025 season set to begin on April 5th at LEGOLAND and PEPPA PIG Park.
